American Ginseng Spagyric (Panax quinquefolius) in 2oz amber glass dropper bottle
The very first batch of Mushroomlife's Ginseng Spagyric (being offered now for sale for the first time) was made from wild American ginseng. The roots that were dried and ground to create this extract were all between 12 and 20 years old. This particular ginseng was harvested from the midwest, and the highly gnarled deep lines in its exterior were artifacts of having to survive by twisting itself around rocks through harsh soil.
The roots of this extremely rare and highly valued plant, American ginseng has been shown in clinical trials to provide focus and energy, and offer memory support (1-3). The novel small molecules responsible for such stimulating effects are the ginsenosides. Results from a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in 2010 conducted by researchers from the Centre for the Study of Natural Medicines and Neurocognition in Melbourne Australia showed that patients had significant improvements in working memory associated with a standardized dose of ginsenosides derived from the American ginseng root (1).
In today's culture, finding balance amid the hustle and bustle of a fast paced lifestyle is nearly impossible, and commonly leads to fatigue and exhaustion. Fatigue is a complex, multidimensional symptom that is poorly understood and often difficult to research. Because of its energizing effect on the body, American Ginseng was shown to be a treatment for both aging-related fatigue reported in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (2,3) and chronic illness such as cancer-related fatigue (3) as reported in the Journal of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Both studies were randomized double-blind clinical trials conducted by high level research professionals (2,3).
*Special note: the first batch of this product, is potent. For this batch we used wild ginseng that was sustainably harvested from private property. For these reasons, we must offer the first batch at extremely limited availability. Once the first batch is gone, we plan to use sustainably cultivated organic ginseng in future runs of the Ginseng Spagyric.
